  1. It's funny because I dropped by they to buy a boot tree and she told me that another gentleman came by asking for the same things... We had a laugh and honestly they are amazing there. They gave me tons of info and names of other places to call to try to find what I was looking for. Once we get our costumes done we should drop by there to say hi.

  2. So.. for my 100th post within the forum, I thought that I would share a tip that I received from a Cobbler to stretch my boots and fix a part of the leather that was curling inwards.

He told me to soak the leather with Rubbing Alcohol and then use something like newspaper or in my case my feet to stretch the boots out. I ended up soaking the inside of the boot with the rubbing alcohol in the areas that need to be stretched and then walked around the house for a few hours. I was amazed how fast it worked and comfortable the boots are now.

I did have to shine/buff the boots again, but I consider that fun.

  3. That was my post on the Badlands Garrison Forum.

I have looked everywhere in Edmonton and even called places in Calgary. Honestly I found a pair on Kijiji... which I needed to stretch out a little. Not sure of what size your feet are but Tudor Tack on 51ave in Edmonton sells used boots & had a few... just not my size.

Todd's Costumes will cost you $42USD in shipping to Edm.

  4. Well is a sad day, they didn't fit. I Apparently I have a high arch and I could not get my foot into the boot pass the bend... They were so nice and even showed me how to point my feet like a Ballerina, with no success. They did have another pair of well loved riding books.... they fit but they seem to need some TLC. I got them for 1/4 of the price as the other ones so it was hard to pass.

Should I have then taken in around my calves? Is there something I can do to make them stiffer?

Hopefully these work until I can save up for custom fitting boots.

  5. So I found these online on a buy&sell site. They stated that the are all leather and hand made in Italy. I'm about to go see them but I thought I would post them to the group to see if they will pass for level 3.

Hopefully they fit as these are the only boots I have been able to find locally.
