Yeah, like the arguments between [you know who] and [that one guy] that prompts [you know who] to go see [the man] about it.

Oh agreed. And seeing the "surprises" was jaw dropping. Very nicely done. Looking forward now for the bluray release and watching Rogue One and A New Hope back to back.

  2. I went to the local theatres and, without even planning it, joined a cadre of other Star Wars cosplayers in taking pictures. I was wearing my unfinished Staff Officer uniform, and stood alongside a couple TKs and Jedis and the like.. Unfortunately didn't get a picture of my own, but will post it as soon as I inevitably find myself tagged on Facebook!

Here's my official, no-spoilers review of the movie:

    • It's good
    • You should see it.

I'm mostly excited by the variety of new CRLs the 501st will see from this movie: Death Troopers, Shore Troopers, Imperial Ground Crew, Imperial Armored Crew, Imperial Officer coats, Director Krennic, and a few others.

Yes, it is good, fun and full of great little Easter eggs and surprises. No spoilers. That and I am looking forward to a CRL on the coats and Officer capes or cloaks. They were cool. We gotta get them Jared.

Oh man I totally want to do that. What set is it?? How did you mount the lights??

That is somewhat of a loaded question (lol). It is a classic Revell Star Destroyer model kit, painted and lit. I drilled several hundred 1/32" holes into the window ports. Then fed and glued a 1/32" strand of fiber optic cable into the drilled hole. I bunched them into groups and attached them to various white source LED's throughout the model. The engines are lit by 7 blue LED lights and I also used a white LED to illuminate the underside docking bay.

  4. I have tried to find an answer to this in looking through the forums and I am either missing something or not looking hard enough. If it is the latter I apologize for bringing up a prior discussed question. I am working on a ANH 2nd LT. rank plaque (3 red) and am wondering what the correct number of code cylinders per uniform pocket would be correct? I cannot seem to find my answer anywhere and am hoping someone can help me with this.

The uniform is actually surprisingly comfortable.. so long as I'm standing. When I sit, it constricts and bulges in ways that are indescribably uncomfortable. It hangs naturally and feels even a bit roomy when standing, but because of my awkwardly-shaped body, sitting causes the pants to hike up, the tunic to bunch over the gut, I get a wedgie.. all kinds of things. I might try velcro as that'd at least keep the belt from sliding perpetually upwards on my torso.

Velcro would also help keep your belt in place so that annoying seem that goes across the gut doesn't pop out. I took pics to submit to my GML tonight and had to retake a handful of them because my belt had shifted down exposing the seam. the weight of my boxes and DH-17 make it slide down to the holster side.

When I first started marching about 6-7 years ago, I would constantly "Puppet" when I marched. I had no idea I was doing it and didn't get why people would laugh at me; now I laugh when I see it too-- it just looks so unnatural, despite how it feels.

After your above post, I paid attention to how I walk and how my arms swing. I'm good! Right arm swings with left foot and vice versa. Was worried about that.

  7. The only thing tough for me would be starting on the right foot. I am conditioned (from marching) to start with the left foot. Funny thing is, I am a drummer and the right foot is your main foot for the bass drum (unless you are left handed) so when playing my set it is always a kick off with the right. Mental blocks. lol

  8. Wow, all great advice. If you are portraying an officer, even for fun, it is important to act and "sell" the fact that you demand the respect due to you as an agent of the Empire. I learned a lot of these things (minus the salute) in marching band ironically enough. A note just to add to this would be (another marching band lesson) when you walk, be sure to roll your feet from heel to toe. Try not to stomp. The fluid motion looks badass

  9. Thanks, I appreciate it. I am looking forward to being able to post some pics of my uniform so far over the weekend. I have been working on stuff, waiting for other things to come in and waiting for payday to get some other things I need. It has been a crazy, but fun ride so far. The 501st seemed like the ultimate way to express my Imperial insanity and when I learned about the IOC, well that sealed the deal.

I had to post a lot to get Executive Officer...lol!

lol, i guess you did. A true gift of gab. That's when you start each day on the forum with "Dear Diary..." I am sure as an exec, you had many words of wisdom to share with the lower ranks. :salute:
