Wow, that bad huh? Glad I missed that one. Oh, and TK-421 still is not at his post!

This would be cool and should be simple enough to accomplish once a good pic from the movie or a screen cap from the bluray is available. It would be cool to have an IN officer. It probably seems silly to most, but I thought it might be a cool addition or option to the existing CRL for the IN Dress Uniform.

Yeah. I can see both sides of the debate on that one, frankly, but I'm fine with how things played out, too.
I know the 501st made up the designations, it just seems like some pretty odd choices were made, for a few of them.
Overall, though, they're pretty meaningless.
I do find it ironic that we still refer to someone's Legion number as their "TKID" even for people who don't have a TK designation. I started off as a TK so it made perfect sense, but as I add other detachment costumes, it starts to seem a little funny.

Something else we all need to keep in mind: We only submit a suggested CRL to the LMO, his team will use portions of one and parts off another one. It is extremely rare for any CRL to be published as submitted. All we can do is ask for the revisions and Eric is more that agreeable that we will update this specific one.

I wore mine when I went with a bunch of squad mates to the midnight toy release at toys r us.
We were all wearing kilts too though. And most had star wars shirts.

This has bugged me for a while. Not in the "This is stupid!" way of being bugged, but more like "Why is that?"
So, why is it that Imperial Crew members are "IC"s, Imperial Navy members are "IN", but Imperial Officers are "ID" rather than "IO"?

Not possible to make them actually "accurate". There isn't enough material to let it out, and "adding" material would mean there would be a seam where there shouldn't be any seams. You'd have to have your tailor sew a whole new pair of pants from that fabric.
Generally, don't worry about it. If it's especially bad and pointy, you can have the curve smoothed a bit (taken in). Otherwise, just add the iron-in interfacing so they're not droopy, and you should be fine.

Another useful trick that I have used is to take the legs in about an inch on the inner legs of the pants. It actually helps by pulling the flares in some and makes them look a little more accurate.

I want to add to my last answer. I just found out that about a year ago, the LMO and DL's agreed not to post incomplete CRL's. That has added to the assumption the CRL's aren't being worked on, they are, but not available as of yet.
We will still strive to speed these up. The CRL's aren't the only function of the Detachment, but they are a priority.

DonnyD68 reacted to Ruthar in Questions for Candidates
I am a strong believer in leading by example. To that end, I believe that the leader of any of our Detachments should strive for the highest quality possible in regards to their costumes and screen accuracy. The Executor/Imperator program is a great way to recognize those achievements, and I personally believe the system does very well. That being said, here are my questions:
1) For Rob and Robert: I see that neither of you have any recognition in either of those programs for higher levels of costume accuracy. Do you have specific reasons for your lack of participation? Are your personal costumes up to a high standard and do they match what we see on-screen in an exemplary fashion? What are your likes/dislikes about the Executor/Imperator program, and what, if anything, will you change should you be selected to lead?
2) For Mark: In contrast, you have multiple costumes that meet the standards of the Imperator/Executor program. Do you believe the program is working as intended? What, if anything, would you change about it?
Thank you for your time, gentlemen, and best of luck!

I got bored so I figured I would share some of my photo shop work I have done over the last week or so. It was a fun time killer and most came out pretty good for someone who really does not know what he is doing. I try though.
Staff Officer
Warrant Officer
and Bridge Crew
I did one for my TIE Reserve Pilot uniform as well, bit figured I would stick to the IOC uniforms here.

DonnyD68 reacted to vertex in 3D Printed DH-17
Having done a few printed blasters the biggest issue I have found with some of the models available free or to purchase is that they really weren't made to be printed and will require some modification to the models. The focus seems to have been placed solely on reproducing a faithful representation with very little thought put into actual assembly, fitment of parts or limitations of printer volume (bed space).
The most common issue I have run into has been fitment. Even when the model is a very accurate or detailed representation you just can get the pieces to fit together because the tolerances (space need between parts) are just too tight or in some cases non-existent. This could require major rework of the model to massage out those issues depending on the number of parts and complexity as a whole and if you don't have the right software or skill set may end up being an exercise in frustration.
Here's an example of my latest printed blaster - it doesn't fall under IOC but this E-22 was a real pleasure to print/assemble as all the issues I mentioned were taken into consideration. All parts with the exception of the PVC pipe core (not visible) and the sling/attachments were 3D printed.

lantern2745 Asks:
My initial question for all three candidates is - because some of you are known to us and active on the boards, and some of you are not ; Who are you?
Also, be prepared for a follow up question.
I'll start by saying that I've been in the 501st since 2011. I first joined Bloodfin Garrison, I served a short time as GCOG there. I was next a charter member of the Northern Darkness Garrison where I'm about to embark on my 3rd year as GML. I'm also on the staff of the FISD, 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment as its Provost Marshal. I've held that position for over 4 years now. I also helped to develop and start up the Fireteam program for the FISD.
I joined the IOC in 2012. When we started the Executor/Imperator program, I was the first approved Executor. Since I was first, BJ asked me to be the first IOC Deployment Officer. I held that position for a year and then I was asked to serve as Executive Officer. As XO, I have learned the Administrative portion of running the IOC. I have filled in for BJ quite a bit due to his very hectic schedule last year. The XO and DL have to keep track of all the new members coming in via the 501st Membership Data Base, which has had some issues due to the age of that programing, as several members may have found out this year.
That's the facts so far, looking forward to a follow up.
