Well, they'd be cheaper than re-buying a 300$ pair of boots, but not by much. For the effort one might as well sell the boots and re-buy them for a little more, so that you at least have accurate zipper-less boots, like I was saying I'd do.

I do not know what I would do without her . She has always been there for me and certainly saved my life on more than one occasion. I love her dearly and am truly blessed. Now, if I could get her to put on a costume and join the 501st she would bring balance to the Force.

So now that Rogue One is out, are there plans on including some of the new rank bars that appeared in the film?

I wish the force would flow into my wife like that. Only my son has it and my daughter potential to have it.

It's a lot for a non-armor

It would make sense. I know I am getting embroidered with my flight suit, but have every intention on going vinyl once I get working on it. I wonder if the would work with the velcro? I may experiment with it some, but trial and error will determine that one. You give out great insight, thank you.

Oh, it's totally fine for basic approval, and an effective technique, to be sure.  I've used it in a number of places, just not here.
 
For those who like to go for higher levels, or simply be more accurate, it's good to have all the info on hand so an informed decision can be made, whether it's "screw the higher levels, I just wanna troop" or "bring on the ruler and judge my accuracy!" LOL 
 
Re-reading the OP, it seems they're looking at this for a TIE Pilot, which is a different detachment entirely. Not sure why it's posted in the IOC forums, under the circumstances... although that uniform is very, very, VERY similar to our Bridge crew uniform.  But the JRS CRL for TIE Reserve/Pilot also requests the vinyl patches instead of embroidered.  So the same questions would apply, I suppose.
 
For level two certification (if applicable):
Imperial patches on the shoulders are printed vinyl rather than embroidered. At any rate, there's the info, so decisions can be made.   Happy trooping!

Is that approveable for upper levels?  That's a really old trick for military patches, and there's no doubt that it works, but it does make the patch "stand out" a little more, and might make it look more like the regular embroidered patch instead of the iron-on vinyl patch that lays practically flush on the fabric.  The material would be different between the two, but the overall appearance of a patch "sewn" on is not what they're looking for.  (at least, that's my impression)
 
I'd be curious to see leadership weigh in on this.  While going with Velcro sticks with the letter of the CRL, I'm not so sure it's true to the intent / spirit.

Carrie Fisher (Actress for Princess/General Leia Organa) has passed at the age of 60.
 
Fisher suffered a traumatic heart attack on December 23rd, after which EMTs could not resuscitate her for over 15 minutes. She was taken into emergency services and it was announced that she had been stabilized, confirmed by a family member. Today, on December 27th, Fisher passed on at 8:55 AM, as confirmed by her daughter.
 
We will remember the Princess fondly, just as fondly (if not more-so) than the sadly-growing list of familiar faces that have blessed the silver screen to bring us the great creation we know as Star Wars.

For the price, they're really stylish boots! And that makes me suspicious, surely they'll arrive and fall apart at the seams 
 
As the others said, they're not approvable. They're a good example of how close one can get to the source boots and be off on just a few details-- such as the zipper/seam combo on these boots, for example.
