I am proposing the IOC be the new home for the doctor. I'd like to start a CRL for him but I need someone else to confirm with me that he is wearing a feldgrau officer's tunic underneath his lab coat before I order anything. I have more than enough refences in different lighting scenarios to prove it's the feldgrau, and possibly more on the greyer side of the spectrum.

    Howdy folks!
This has been talked about for 6 or so years, but we are finally pulling the trigger.

We are going to no longer allow Cosplaysky for Level 3 approval levels of olive colored OT uniforms.
The big reason is the shade of "olive" is way wrong. We will still black and white tunics since those colors are good.
The full list of affected officers:
Admiral Daala Officer Grand Moff Tarkin High Moff Morlish Veed Imperial Military Officer Non Saga Mimban Officer LIne Officer
Again, this is just a L3 restriction. They are still good for basic approval. This lets us have high standards, but not make us gate keepers.

Like the FISD, we would put this in a Special Notes section at the top of the page and also mention it in the tunic/jodhpurs L3 sections of the CRLs.

    Hello there.
While a lot of makers are more geared towards selling the finished product and may not be keen on sharing their patterns, there are still a lot of places to start on the actual sewing. A good search on the forums can get into it. From what I could find:

Also, one of our own members @Hawkhas some great videos on making it.

meitru reacted to TheRascalKing in RubberBlastersEtc - AVOID THIS VENDOR
Hey all, please be aware that the vendor RubberBlastersEtc should be avoided at all costs. They have been removed from every Legion forum and the proprietor banned from the Clubs due to confirmed previous conviction of the most severe type of criminal charges. Please DO NOT support this individual or recommend/link their page, and always research and check your Detachment/relevant forums for lists of vetted vendors and those to avoid BEFORE making any significant purchases. This is the former proprietor of Hyperfirm (yes, THAT ONE), so due to the sensitive nature of the topic, I am not inviting discussion but you can PM me if you have pressing concerns.

My goal is for the only thing to show up when people Google or search any 501st forum is a post clearly stating not to support this individual. It is potentially damaging to the IOC and Legion in general when members leave reviews citing their membership and support, and members should be strongly deterred to avoid the perception that the Legion in any way approves of or is affiliated with this vendor. Thank you.

We updated the ANH Staff officer to further clarify the unique tunic and add graphics to help the GMLs differentiate that this is not just "the black version of the olive tunic"

    Added "special notes" section.
    Special Notes
This costume is very rare. This tunic was unique to ANH. It is NOT a black version of the standard olive tunic. The collar clips on the side of the neck instead of the center of the neck. The yoke closes up across the shoulder, instead of coming up to the shoulder seam. The tunic has top stitching in some areas, whereas other tunics have no top stitching. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs, instead of having no opening. The rear of the tunic has double vents (one on each side), whereas other tunics have no vents present. Princess panels extend to the shoulder seam, whereas other tunics extend to the armhole.
If the tunic is a black version of the olive tunic, THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT CRL for it. The correct CRL is the Imperial Security Officer (Non Saga).

Updated the picture for the tunic to show what is correct, and what is incorrect.
Tunic, Black Fabric is a medium weight suiting material exactly matching the pants and hat. Gaberdine style weave is most accurate. Tunic is double-breasted with a left over right closure on at the right shoulder-seam. The back of the tunic replicates the look of the double breasted design of the front. Yoke closes up across the shoulder to the top shoulder seam. The standing collar has square corners and is approximately 1.25' to 2' tall and closes snugly. Collar edges close on the right side of the neck with two eye hooks. Collar closure edge aligns with the right shoulder seam. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about half way between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, containing 2 seams, one along the bottom and one along the back. The rear sleeve seam opens at the cuffs at a length of about 3" (75mm) Tunic has top-stitching in these specific areas: Approximately 1/4" (6mm) from the outer edges of the double breast/double back, Approximately 1" (25,4mm) from the outer edge of the double breast/double back Directly underneath the edge of the code cylinder-pockets Hook and eye fasteners on the uniform are not visible.
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is a dart in the top centre of the tunic, this dart is between 2 inches (50.8mm) to the top of the code cylinder pocket in length. There is a seam running the entire circumference of the tunic, dividing it along a line hidden by the uniform belt.
OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Tunic to be secured on the right side by snaps or buttons, not Velcro. There is no topstitching visible anywhere but at the noted points. A cream lining is to be sewn in.

meitru reacted to Grimwalker in Build Resource Thread - Agent Kallus (Rebels Season 3) - Project Starting April 2023
So I'm in the resource and knowledge gathering stage of this project, and I have questions.

Armor: Unfortunately I've just learned that David Sack (aka ItsAnOldCode) passed away in 2021. Unless anyone else is making kits, I think this will have to be a de novo 3D Print. I found this:
https://www.do3d.com/product-page/agent-kallus-star-wars-rebels-helmet-chest-armor-3d-model-project-494-1 (Will need to be modified with the correct rank bars)
Tunic: Based on photo references and the CRL this appears to be a heavily modified Officer's Tunic, to incorporate the 2-tone panels. What Patterns are a good starting point for an Officer Tunic?
McCall's M4745 - I've seen this referenced in others' build threads. Would need modification, though I have lots of pattern paper and have no issues tracing the pattern onto other pattern paper and changing lines and dividing the parts into additional sections to create the gray/black panels.  Shoulder attachment would have to be added breast panel would need to be modified so its edge is vertical; essentially the edge of the gray central panel. breast and shoulder and sleeve pieces divided into gray/dark gray panels base modifications as per http://lellimecnar.com/costuming/imperial-officer/tunic-pattern/#introduction Simplicity 7274 - I believe I've seen this as an option, but I don't know if one or the other is preferred. similar modifications as per M4745 Pants: Not worried about this, whatever trouser pattern comes with the tunic will be sufficient.

In terms of sequencing, unfortunately I can't make much headway on the Tunic until I get the Armor done, so that I can place my cloth panels in alignment with the armor as per Level 3 requirements.

Gauntlets: Not sure how to approach this; I've seen various methodologies but no other aspects of the costume are particularly dependent on having this solved. I'm open to ideas.
Leg armor: Same as gauntlets. I'm open to ideas.

    Bo-Rifle: https://traywickdesigns.com/products/battlefront-cj-9-bo-rifle-kit?variant=16423599603830&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic
Any major concerns with this out of the gate which would prevent approval?

There is no changing room. The venue has bars, a restaurant and is one of the city's largest indoor gardens.

The theme is the Empire at cocktails. While an IOC costume is not required, you'll probably look out of place in armor. Most will be in Officer uniforms. My spouse is Rebel Legion and so he's made a Senator.

Some things should go without saying, but we live in an age where we do have to say things. I will cross post this in the Officer's Mess too.

At no times will this detachment be a home or accepting to people that are friendly to or espouse the ideas behind fascism, Nazism or any totalitarian ideology. We dress up as fictional space bad guys. Conflating any of the above with doing that is not only morally wrong, it puts at risk what we do here in this detachment and the legion as a whole. We will not allow such a risk.

I have spoken to members who have belonged to reenacting groups that have had those ideologies come into them. That will not be permitted here, not under this administration. And if that day ever comes that it would be allowed, I would hope you would join me in finding another hobby.

There will be no litmus tests for members. If you are a reenactor, I hope you enjoy doing it and I hope you keep the ideology out of it. There is no conversation over re-enacting that you cannot take private. And if you are an open adopter of the ideologies listed above, no one wants to hear it...ever. If you see something in violation of this, please contact the staff and we will deal with it promptly.

meitru reacted to Hoda in Acceptable boots?
    Hi Eduardo!

For L1 approval, you should check in with your GML. They are the ones that will give the go/no go on these boots.

Having zippers are fine for the Transport Security Officer - like you pointed out, it's present even in the level 2 requirement

For these pair of boots ... the zippers are really obvious. If it's all she can find, you should see if your GML has issues with them.

Good luck - keep us posted on your conversation!
