For the hat, I would but one unless your good at sewing! But if your up for the challenge im sure there is a guide on the forum! 
For the boots Crowsprops makes jackboots and ships almost anywhere. I use his officer boots!

This is actually a story from the other side! I'm actually guilty of calling the local ISB Officer in my squad Krennic at an event several months back, before I was a member. I saw the white tunic and my mind jumped to the scene of Krennic and Galen talking. However, Krennic always wore a cape, in that scene and for most of Rouge One. Both the ISB Officer and myself were quick to correct the error, but it is still a goof that sticks with me. I will need to memorize officers more!
Yeah... I'm one of those people. Haven't called an officer a Stormtrooper though, so at least I have that going for me! 

Once I have some troops under my belt, I'll likely have some tales to tell in this thread.

As an ISB officer, I've manly been called Krennic but ive also been called a stormtrooper once or twice.

That thread is the most recent discussion I can recall.  There are tons of differences, but they're all quite small.  Technically the pattern is slightly different... that's the hardest bit to replicate, since there are no widely-available sources for the R1-specific version of the costume. (and no cheap options, since CosplaySky only does the OT versions).  All the rest is just picking the R1 version of the various greeblies.

Code cylinders do have silver clips, and the code disks on the hat have no notch (and I think no groove either, but I'm not 100% sure of that)

Some of you may know, but many likely do not, but I just got married this summer. And, as both of us were huge Star Wars fans, we had... lets say, a themed wedding. It was really great. I dressed up as my Grand Admiral, my best man and all my groomsmen were Officers. Even the bridesmaids wore rank bars, and Krennic (who is also our friend) did the ceremony. We also invited my Garrison to come out and walk down the aisle with us. It was spectacular, and I thought some of you would like to see the pictures.
