This issue has been beaten to death, hashed out in forums, on Reddit, on Facebook, you name it.

It's not a simple rebranding.  It's not the same company.  It IS the same products, manufactured in the same facilities using the same molds and patterns, under the same licenses, because that's what NECO/Rubies purchased.  And a pretty similar website, even, since it's mostly all the same stuff.  No need to pay extra to recreate the wheel from scratch, there.

The difference is NECO/Rubies didn't start a pyramid scheme where they fell behind preorders and were trying to use profits from one product to pay for their order for the next one.  Their pockets are deep enough, and experience with international logistics was extensive enough, that they simply paid for the orders normally.  The result is what Anovos COULD have been had they not screwed up in a number of very basic ways.

Having both an Anovos set and a DN set, while similar, there are definite differences.  Personally,  I'd say the Anovos was a couple of steps higher in overall quality than the DN.  Might be the same facilities, patterns etc, but in my personal opinion,  the final products differ quite a bit.  The Anovos overall seems closer to OT uniforms, while the DN seems to reflect the newer stuff.  Whether this was intentional or not, I have no idea.

  2.   Wondering if there have been any further developments on this.  I'm partial to the style as represented in the last picture.  Having recently added EMT duties to my regular ones in real life, I thought it would be fun to do a medic uniform.  I feel like there may have been medics depicted in an old comic, the one with Sunber in the "Roarke's Drift" analog.  Will do some digging...

  3. Meero and Partagaz look to have the same coat to me, albeit he's got it closed left over right VS Meero's right over left.  I think the appearance of the collar is an optical illusion.  The material and stitching appear the same.  I think the difference in appearance is more down to the difference in physical footprint of the two people, along with the fact that the major appears to have his collar flipped up.   I think if Merro flipped her collar up, hers would look the same, or if Partagaz laid his down, he would match hers.  Also, it's clear in a couple of those pics that she has gathered excess fabric of the coat, particularly on the sides, using her belt to keep things in place for a more tailored look.

My money would be on the same jacket, just worn differently by different people and different body types.

  4. I think I made that original color comparison post.  I've got a set of the new olive tunic and pants coming.  I could compare to the old Anovos if there's interest.  I've got a DN black uniform as well.  While I don't have a black Anovos, the fabric looks pretty much the same as the one or two black Anovos ones I saw years ago.  Pretty sure they would work just fine together.

  5. It's not too hard to add a modesty panel.  I added one to my Anovos, and am planning on adding one to my Denuo Novo.  I have to hand sew, as I'm not really conversant with a sewing machine.  Just find fabric as close a match as possible, and make a little panel to sew in.  Or if you're feeling fancy use snaps so you can remove it depending on version you feel like using.  I'm pretty sure there was a discussion about Piett's panel quite some time ago, and I think the consensus was that it was just a mistake (I. E. accidentally folded back or some such) therefore the option to not have it was not included in the crl. But I could be misremembering... ;-)

  6. I've got an Anovos olive green in medium, as well as Denuo Nove mediums in black and white.  I found the Anovos medium pants waaay oversized compared to the size chart.  I had to have the waist taken in considerably.  Haven't gotten the Denuo Novo pants yet, so can't comment on it yet, but I'm hopeful that it will be more true to the size chart. I'd say the olive Anovos medium and the black denuo novo are fairly close in construction, sizing and material, with perhaps a slight edge to Denuo Novo in trueness of size viz a vie the size chart.  It 's been a lot of years, but I seem to remember having to have the Anovos jacket tailored as well.  Sleeves were too long for me on both jackets.  The white jacket however fits quite differently than the black, not as good in my opinion, particularly in the shoulder area, and the material is different.  It wrinkles if you just look at it.  Hat sizing also seems to be a bit more true to the sizing chart than the Anovos.

  7. Not to worry, my ladyfriend here who is about 5'3 is wearing my Moncal "larger size", and it works fine.  Albeit I did adjust the shape a bit from stock to better match the shape of ANH/ESB helmets.  The new "larger" Moncal helmets are a vast improvement over the older version 1 "smaller" helmets.  I have both, and the original "small" just has a lot of problems with its angles, the depth of the main bowl, etc., resulting in that odd "bobsled helmet" shape" when viewed from the side. The newer version corrects some of these issues, though still not perfectly.  As mentioned however, the "larger" version is the one used for the current movies, and according to Moncal, will also be used for any media going forward, so you really can't get much more screen - accurate than that.

  8. While I don't have the Premier line, I've got the standard line Anovos, and the new denuo novo. I made a post comparing the two. They're pretty much identical, sans the color of the denuo being a slight bit darker.  In some ways the denuo is better, as it seems to have some interfacing in parts of the body which helps it keep its shape better than the old Anovos. The photos on their website definitely don't do their product any favors though.

A competent tailor could probably take care of the liner issue for you without too much trouble. Also, you might consider having any of the folks here who make hats have a go at fixing it, as they have experience with construction of these things from the ground up.

I'm in the main photo of all of us,  the one with just navy troopers, and I think one more.  We also had a goofy one.  I was the only one in navy trooper dress (tunic) uniform.

Sent you some that fit your description.  Don't think I caught the goofy one, unfortunately.

Note how the DH-17 is holstered on his right side, meaning there's no magwell.

So the DH-17 (like the E-11 and the SE-14R) are completely new props, different from the R1/Mandalorian blasters.

    Thank goodness.
