  1. The trench coat and poncho are found in the security services CRL which is specific to Rogue One, Solo, Andor and the Mandalorian.

The ANH staff is a very different cut uniform and as they were only ever seen on the Death Star in the OT, they do not have these accessories.

  2. Understand that the army troopers of Andor are all green.  They are part of the imperial military: navy and army.  They are commanded by imperial military officers in green.

The guys in black are the security services.  Enlisted and officers.  They are NOT the military.  They are part of the political party directly connected to the Emperor.  Eventually they will take over all of the Imperial military, have their own star destroyers and command legions... but not just yet.

The ISB is an agency adjacent to the security services. And both of them have very specific goals.

Palbo Hildalgo made it very clear with the first few episode of Andor... the organizational structure of the empire the ISB, the security services and COMPNOR are being taken directly from THIS book.

We posted a PDF copy of it not so long ago.  If you want to see how it is organized you can.

The legion has a history of fan created names for things, but that doesn't mean that is what the productions call them or how they are used from a lore standpoint.

But from a costume structure standpoint, these are the same costumes as the army troopers just in black.

I ordered my belt with no dye on the back for this reason! Ep 7 keeps giving and giving with these references.

Unfinished leather on the inside of the belt can ruin the fabric of your tunic in one to two wears.  It is like sandpaper on fabric.

The belts made by Duenovo (formerly ANOVOS) have smooth finished white interiors to neither stain or destroy the fabric.

A tunic is a big investment, you should be careful of damaging it.

I can't speak for any LMO administrations having not served on one.

I can speak for previous IOC administrations having been your predecessor, and working with my predecessor and his.

Where has there been resistance to CRLs for women?

The CRL models could certainly be updated to feature a more diverse array of members, but in my time and in my various roles I was never privy to specific CRLs for women or feminine presenting members being denied for that reason alone.

Seeing as you brought it up here, I'd appreciate elaboration on it here.

If you want to start a thread elsewhere we can go fully into in detail.  Or we can wait until the election where all of this is likely to be laid out.  I have no issue with you Jeff as you were never part of that.  @Eagle is alleging that this administration is not answering the needs of women or diversity.  That record can be fully explored in detail including past administrations, but not in this thread.  But it will be answered.

As for Meero's uniform being designed differently, that is not an opinion I share after having talked to several tailors.  The patterns are mostly the same.  the variation comes from the size of the wearer and tailoring tricks for a better fit.

@eagle example of the ANH Staff and the Security services non saga CRLs simply being different stitching shows a lack of understanding of how both are constructed.  The only thing those two costumes have in common is that they are black.  If it was made out of different color fabric you would see this better.

The ANH Staff has its collar closure on the side, the Security services in front.  The ANH Staff is double breasted on the back as well as the front, the Security services is a princess seam.  Fully different constructions and the people who have had both costumes in their hands understand this.  That is why there are two CRLs with this example he cited.

The construction of Deedra Meero CRL will continue here and we will fully explore it and support it.  We entertain any examples about how its construction is different from other ISB Non saga uniforms as that has use with improving that CRL also. But to say that a member could not do Deedra Meero this moment with the ISB Non saga CRL is not the case.

Going forward keep this to the construction of this CRL.  If you have any issues unrelated, please take that to a separate thread outside of CRL construction.

OH! Good eye! Thank you for this, as I was about to put in the formal order. I stand corrected. I will also yoink those references for MazKave, if you don’t mind!

That would be great, thank you, @buckrogersbarker. :) I know there is someone else in my garrison who is building a Dedra so I will be happy to help in any way.

I've known her for 15 years.  She's amazing.  Right now, the more references the better.

And I would go take a look in the recent non saga ISB CRL thread.  We have a lot of screen caps there and in our galleries at the top of the page.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eagle in my capacity as Diversity Officer for my garrison. A female imperial lead is a VERY big deal and to not include her as her own CRL would be a disservice to all female and femme-presenting 501st members who have been waiting so long for a major female Imperial face character. This could also have implications for possible LFL casting troops, although they are rarer these days, I will admit. And people want to see face characters, let’s be honest.

She and the femme-identifying members of the Legion deserve more than “ISB non-saga with three blue tiles and a blonde bun.”

On the point of the middle seam, there is no evidence it *is* there in the non-saga ISB uniforms. Not in the references I’ve been able to find, anyway. They rarely show the tunic without the belt, so the opportunities to look are few and far between. We only know it’s there in the OT uniforms because they’ve been on display where they can be closely examined. The ISB non-saga has not had that opportunity, to my knowledge.

I am currently working to get higher-res images, and reaching out to find someone who might be able to tell me more. I’m also working closely with my GML, who is an approved staff officer and naval trooper. We’ve been pouring over the scenes where Dedra and the other ISB officers appear, and as far as we can see clearly, at least in Andor, they all wear the same style flat top boot with a strap. The location and style of the strap is still something we’re trying to nail down.

Sky my first concern and the concern of this administration is that all members be able to do the LFL licensed character that they want to do.  We have a history of advocating for women's costumes and CRLs where it had previously met a lot of resistance at both the LMO office and previous IOC administrations.  Where there had been resistance before can be discussed in a separate thread or you can speak to the IOC detachment's diversity officer if you want to know more.

Deedra Meero CAN be done this moment with the existing CRL.  But if you want to have a separate CRL just for her with the same available parts, I will put that forward to the LMO office to vote on.  And we will pursue it through the normal process as you put your costume together.

  7. @Sebastian  I am sympathetic but we have to take that to the LMOs.  They are the arbiter of if this uniform is generic or if it is a face character.  Now I believe that EVERY uniform SHOULD have the option of being generic.  But they have the final say.

What I mentioned above has been the traditional threshold of what is generic and what is a face character.

I will try to get them engaged here.

    Great work by the way.

  8. This is an important discussion I would like everyone to be a part of.  There are two parts to it.

One, we want to reflect all of the officer boots used with these uniforms particularly with the non saga officer uniforms.

Two, we want to be as accurate as possible with what we allow in the CRLs.

But collecting all of this information will provide greater options that we want available to those who utilize it.

  9. Our direction is if a face character wears a uniform that is the same or extremely similar to other generic officers, we will structure the CRL on the generic officers.   We will place any details found in an "hero" application for level 2 or 3 so someone can take it to the highest standards possible.

Our first mission is: Can someone do this character?

Our second mission is how to logically group it in the CRLs for reference.
