You have to be able to see, but Thrawn in a good question. Make sure you have a spotter if you can't see.

LOL, I just explained this to your GML. Let me share it with you too:
What he has there is a Russian Dosimeter. I use them but have modified it to resemble the correct, blue tipped models.
As it is now, it won't work. But if he makes or buys a correct style clip and modifies the rest, this model will work. I cut a groove around the side of the plastic caps to make it look more like the blue cap, then painted it blue. The larger end, that is the top now, I made the bottom and painted it black. -
Well Done!

Nice presentation! Good Luck!

because there was no difference between ANH and TESB officers. Actually there were with the construction of the uniforms. We are hanging our hats on conjecture here.
We can also change the rules to pursue other avenues of objective credible evidence. Here is the documentation from the Legion as quoted by the LMO already: http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:CharacterApproval
Specifically: The character must be represented visually by an officially authorized Star Wars publication. Full body front/back/side reference must be available. Costumes based only on text descriptions cannot be approved.
This will be the last time we need to debate the written 501st rules in this post. By all means, take the debate to the LMO or LCO. We have many other approvable costumes to do CRL work for and until such time that we can get more photos to support this one, again, our hands are tied.
So unless you have some breaking evidence, or something supportive to add to this topic, please stop making the staff repeat what has already been covered.

That is a sad story. Making the one he wears in the Couruscant cocktail flashback. I need something to drink in.
Just trying to figure out the rules here. if there are two people in the same uniform it can be generic. If you only see one person in it you have to do that person?
That is a lot of nice work Philo. It could be cleared up with a phone call by the right person to Lucasfilm.
We have come up with a plan for this member anyway, he is going to submit as Hux.

ok. this will sound really dumb.
Why not wait on the celebration and see any of the same hux uniform shows up in the clips? Not dumb at all, this may be our only hope.

then our rules and procedures do not serve us for the new movies... and maybe they won't for decades.
You can't make people want to do costumes they weren't interested in when they are focused on something they want to do. rules and procedures serve the membership. and when they don't serve, new ones need to be proposed so that they DO serve.
that does not mean that people don't want the highest accuracy possible. anyone that says that is what this means is mischaracterizing this. In this case, we are not talking about details, we are asking is the one there the same as the one wore by Hux, the one we know the details of. That is a yes or no questions. That is almost like asking "is the stormtrooper in back the same as the stormtrooper in front?" To say "no, we don't have any pictures of the stormtroopers in back" is the response we are getting.
You saw what the LMO said. No amount of debate here will change it. The Speech scene doesn't have the details required to make the correct call. Until we have additional pics proving the other generals are dressed exactly the same as Hux, our hands are tied.
I agree with the need for this CRL, but we can't base the CRL on wants and could be, but we do lack the facts to support it.
This kind of post needs to be directed to the LMO staff, not here. It is not adding to the discussion for the other officers in the movie, it is disrupting it and it bordering on flaming. Please post only constructively in this thread or I will have no choice but to close it.

As the LMO said, no matter what text we find in a book or what an actor, director or anyone else states, without a sequence of hi def pics, he won't create a CRL for a Generic General. Do I like that? NO, but the buck stops with the LMO. Our only hope would be production photos or any additional deleted scenes surface.

Those boots look great!! If you interact with them, please see if they have a nice pair size 12 US.

Good research here. Hope this gets through the process.
I have to go dig up the information, but I am fairly certain that these ARE generals too. There was a comment somewhere about "Captain Phasma" standing on equal footing with them. While her title is Captain, he rank is more the equivalent of a General. That shows why she is standing with those on the podium. I'll try to look that up and cite it this weekend. As he said, any reference will be appreciated. But the problem is that there is no photographic evidence of the other Generals. I'm all for this option in a CRL, however, without some pics of a General, it will continue to be blocked at the LMO level. I will continue to search for an option.

Great start here everyone, this is how to work as a team!!

Praji has the gauntlets, Merr Sonn power 5 blaster with the brown holster. Up to L2, these are optional. But, if you want to portray Praji for L3 you need to have the copy the character as accurately as possible. However, if you have gun laws in your country, we can make provisions for that.
Specific Officers aren't alluded to in the CRL, at least not the Staff Officers. You can go L3 by the merit of your presentation if you don't wish to emulate a specific character.

Alternate style code cylinders clarification

Posted
So, between this posting and the GML posting, what is your end game here? Are you making a case to change the CRL or to justify this type for one of your members?
