  1. Thanks for your concern Robert and thanks for the clarification Dawn.

Let me point out that we aren't closing the CRL discussion zone, we are merely moving the meat and potatoes of the process to the CRL team area.  The members of the teams have voiced their desire to keep the members in the loop and they will.  We just can't afford the time dedicated to the occasional over debating of some of the minor details.

The team will bring a draft to the open forum prior to submission to the LMO team.  We are just going to streamline the process.  You are acquainted with the team members and they will be announced very soon.

  2. Greetings IOC,

I was going to post this in a prior thread but decided to start a new one instead of taking over someone's thread.

Something to keep in mind, we worked on almost all the CRL's last year and the LMO team is involved with a lot of cool upgrades for ALL the CRL's.  As much as we'd like to update every detail, we have to remember that the purpose of the CRL system is to provide a guideline for the members and GML's to use in the basic approval process.  The CRL's are meant to be a guide for approval details that are required for approval, not a build schematic for assembling a costume.  Some of the requested updates can be too detailed and not necessary for a CRL.

Build guides are supposed to be in the various build areas of the forum for each specific costume.

With this being said.  We are about to launch the CRL team program.  There will be 2, 3 members teams to work on the details of the CRL's.  One will concentrate on the Imperial era costumes and the other will be working on the First Order area.

We will still take suggestions for new CRL's and updates, but the brunt of the work will be done by the staff and the appropriate teams.  This has been requested by the LMO team, due to the time it has been taking to debate every minute detail in open forum.  Not long ago, we had no say in how a CRL was made, we want to keep in the loop, so to say.

The members that present an idea for a specific CRL will be kept in the process, provided a costume is in the process of being made for a CRL model.  We will not present a CRL to the LMO team without the proper, visual references to even make a CRL and a costume in process for a model.  The LMO team will no longer post an unfinished CRL.

While CRL maintenance is a big part of what we do, it isn't the most important part of the IOC.   The main goal is to provide a platform to assist and encourage new and present members to get and share information in the creation of Imperial and First Order uniforms  and assist them, as needed, in the approval  process.  As well as to have a fun time, helping children of all ages in our various charitable goals.

  3. Greetings IOC,

As many of you probably did, I spent my weekend trooping at a local Theater for the opening of Solo, A Star Wars Story.  Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the movie was.  I enjoyed it all 3 times that I viewed it.

For whatever reason, the box office didn't explode for it and the haters that suggested a boycott have declared a victory.  It saddens me that any fan of the Star Wars universe would take pleasure in the possible failure of any Star Wars film.

I've been a fan since I saw the first movie in the theater in 1977.  At that time, we didn't have the instant response of the internet or more specifically, social media.  We we're all starving for anything Star Wars and felt lucky to see our favorite Star Wars Characters in any way.  Donnie and Marie, The Muppet Show and The Holiday Special are what we got and we were appreciative.

To see fans that call themselves "True fans", reveling in the low numbers at the box office is just baffling to me.  Who knows what the exact factors of the low numbers may be?  Who cares?  It is still the top of the box office this week, it's still a great movie, it was entertaining and interesting.   What do they want?  The end of Star Wars again?  I was excited when the Thrawn Trilogy breathed life back into my favorite universe, I don't want that universe to go dark again.

I must say, the 501st family seems to be of the same mind on this subject.  Most of the comments from them are mostly positive.  But some of the rabid Star Wars fan groups are just beating it to death, in fact, I had to leave one of my favorites due to the negative comments.  They can't possibly think that the removal of Kathleen Kennedy will transform the movies back to their personal vision of what they want the movies to be...these are the same fanboys that came down on George Lucas and the Prequels.

I have enjoyed anything that has extended the story of the Star Wars Universe and I take it at face value, a great fantasy and interesting entertainment.  Any chance to keep the dream alive is great with me.

    Thanks for reading my rant,

    Enjoy life...enjoy Star Wars!!!

May the Force be with You...Always!!

  4. Officially, it was only seen with the rain poncho/cape.  I have seen pictures of members wearing a hat with the regular cape.  It would depend on how official your event was and what your Garrison's official rules would be.

Personally, I've never worn a hat with mine.

  5. I want to bring up a point as to specific characters.  For example, the Black staff officer for ANH, was generic for all the ANH Officers, but, the L3 requires that screen used officer is emulated for Imperator.  There are just too many different Officers to make a separate CRL for all of them.  But you can do an L3 version of any of them you wish.

The same will apply for the Generic FO Officers.  We will add that to the L3 for the FO Officer CRL, to be similar to the other officers.

I'd love to have a separate CRL for every Officer, but that just isn't in the cards.

If someone creates a costume for the FO/Battlefront Officer(Generic), we can explore that CRL as well.

Just as a matter of record, I was all for the Mitaka CRL originally, but the LMO felt differently.
