Sky my first concern and the concern of this administration is that all members be able to do the LFL licensed character that they want to do.  We have a history of advocating for women's costumes and CRLs where it had previously met a lot of resistance at both the LMO office and previous IOC administrations.  Where there had been resistance before can be discussed in a separate thread or you can speak to the IOC detachment's diversity officer if you want to know more.

Deedra Meero CAN be done this moment with the existing CRL.  But if you want to have a separate CRL just for her with the same available parts, I will put that forward to the LMO office to vote on.  And we will pursue it through the normal process as you put your costume together.

I have moved this thread to the New CRL area of the forum.  I will formally request the LMO office if this potential costume can proceed.

I messaged CrowProps and they said they would make the Andor ISB boots to spec, they just need reference pictures. Pardon me while I grumble trying to get a good shot of those straps on the back...

Unfortunately any boot that goes over my calf has to either be specifically made wide-calf or custom-made. My legs are no joke. Lol

Plus I’ll be waiting the same amount of time for my tunic from MazKave.

I wholeheartedly agree with Eagle in my capacity as Diversity Officer for my garrison. A female imperial lead is a VERY big deal and to not include her as her own CRL would be a disservice to all female and femme-presenting 501st members who have been waiting so long for a major female Imperial face character. This could also have implications for possible LFL casting troops, although they are rarer these days, I will admit. And people want to see face characters, let’s be honest.

She and the femme-identifying members of the Legion deserve more than “ISB non-saga with three blue tiles and a blonde bun.”

On the point of the middle seam, there is no evidence it *is* there in the non-saga ISB uniforms. Not in the references I’ve been able to find, anyway. They rarely show the tunic without the belt, so the opportunities to look are few and far between. We only know it’s there in the OT uniforms because they’ve been on display where they can be closely examined. The ISB non-saga has not had that opportunity, to my knowledge.

I am currently working to get higher-res images, and reaching out to find someone who might be able to tell me more. I’m also working closely with my GML, who is an approved staff officer and naval trooper. We’ve been pouring over the scenes where Dedra and the other ISB officers appear, and as far as we can see clearly, at least in Andor, they all wear the same style flat top boot with a strap. The location and style of the strap is still something we’re trying to nail down.

I respectfully disagree. I think characters/officers that play a significant role in these stories deserve a CRL. That includes people like Tarkin. I've never heard this sentiment voiced in any other administration but this one.

At the end of the day when you go to the GML, you will not be approved as Dedra, you will be ISB. No matter what is said or promoted here.

It's a good system, for background officers sure. But you won't be approved as that Officer, you'll just be line, staff, or ISB with that named character configuration.

This is one of the first on screen imperial officer female leads, and not giving her a CRL is a disservice to our female members here in the IOC and the legion as whole. You have the interest, let the CRL be made.

The Spanish-style (curved top) equestrian boots have always been allowed, I think that's why that detail is in there.  We need to do some research for the non-Saga costumes, and see if we can confirm that NONE of the characters have Spanish-style tops on their boots, at which point I'd agree that language needs to be dropped and people will need all flat top boots.

Obviously we need to tweak the boot CRL to bring in the rear adjustment flap and strap, which appears to be basically the same as the ones on the German jack boots.  Previously only Krennic had boots with the adjustment strap, if memory serves.  Meanwhile, no one seeking L3 approval with accurate boots is going to be turned down, whether the CRL has been updated or not.

I'd need to consult a lot more resources on removing the belly seam for Meero, though.

As to whether Meero gets an individual face character CRL, that remains to be seen, but current leaning is no.  It's not a unique costume in any way, it's the standard IOC uniform, just a tad more tailored as you'd expect for a lead character.  IOC leadership has been saying for at least 6 years now, through multiple rounds of staffing, that Tarkin really shouldn't have a dedicated CRL, and if it was to be redone in recent memory, he would not have had one.  They're all officers with standard uniform variations.  (To be clear we have no intention of messing with any of the OT CRLs... Tarkin is safe!  But we don't need to repeat those mistakes with new ones.)

After reading through this thread, I think she deserves a face CRL like Tarkin.  That, and she has a ton of screen time compared to the generic Andor ISBs...

As far as boots go, here's the story. We are trying to update the CRL boots entries.
The current boots entries in the CRL are a mess and we are trying to fix them. How did things get like this? Little changes here and there. Constantly changing boots on screen. We just need to catch up and align them all since they are all mixing and matching in production anyway.
    Make suggestions for updates here:

It’s likely that ALL Imperial boots in Andor have these flaps/straps/buckles, as the close-up that I posted is from one of the Imperial soldier’s boots on Aldani (and costumers prefer to buy in bulk, both for continuity and budget) They are visible not only on Meero’s boots, but several other ISB officers.  I believe this detail is/was in one of the IOC CRLs as an optional detail on the top of the boots, was it not?  I can’t help but wonder if they saw that in the CRL and decided to incorporate it into the new boots, which would be really cool.

    Thank you, @Eagle!

I also thought this was interesting - there does not appear to be a center seam at the belt line on Dedra's tunic coat. It's a VERY brief shot, barely visible, but it certainly appears that way. Maybe this also bears some investigation regarding the higher tier standards for the non-saga ISB officer.

I would also like to see some distinction with the Andor ISB officers. I am doing extensive research to do a Dedra Meero, but would like it to double as a standard ISB non-saga. The problem is that since I am having mine custom done by MazKave, as well, and all my accessories will pass Tier 3 standards, I want the tunic and boots to, as well.

However, Dedra and the other ISB officers in Andor do not have the curved top riding boot, as specified in the CRL for Tier 3 - in fact, all the ISB officers with their boots clearly visible in Andor do have the straight-across boot top, and it appears the flap, as well. Also, in the scene where she is putting on her tunic, the seam around the middle which the belt is supposed to cover seems absent. This detail is also required for ISB non-saga Tier 3.

There seems to be a disconnect between the current ISB non-saga CRL and the way the uniforms are presented in Andor. This mostly applies to higher-level approvals, but as someone who would very much like a double approval as a generic AND face character, and higher-tier approvals, these discrepancies pose an issue.

Edit: I am looking at my screenshots again and it does not appear Dedra has the flaps on the side. But I will have to examine more closely.

I'd personally be in favor of a CRL for her. I think at a certain point, main characters like this should get a CRL.

Also gives us the opportunity to have some more female CRL representation, something a few members called for not to long ago.

    Just my two cents.

None of the slight differences we’re working with MazCave on for my wife’s Meero uniform will be non-conforming to the IOC CRL.  She’ll simply call herself a non-saga ISB Officer for approval.
All of the differences in the Andor officer uniforms are subtle, but there nonetheless.  But nothing that calls for a new CRL, IMHO.

It's fantastic to see that there is a new realistic Canon female Imperial officer character,  for that reason alone she should have a seperate CRL named ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero, as it really is a specific character with specific hairstyle and there are so many subtle differences in comparison to the other ISB Supervisors.
The IOC would be doing it's members a disservice for not giving her a separate crl as there is finally a female character that's added to the roster of approvable costumes.

I am at work now but when researching last weeks into these officers I also noticed that there is some slight differences on her coat aswell, or that there is at least a male and female version of the coat with the female version looking much more tailored and the length appears to be different aswell.
