xAlpha reacted to buckrogersbarker in Fictional Space Bad Guys, Not Real World Bad Guys
Some things should go without saying, but we live in an age where we do have to say things. I will cross post this in the Officer's Mess too.
At no times will this detachment be a home or accepting to people that are friendly to or espouse the ideas behind fascism, Nazism or any totalitarian ideology. We dress up as fictional space bad guys. Conflating any of the above with doing that is not only morally wrong, it puts at risk what we do here in this detachment and the legion as a whole. We will not allow such a risk.
I have spoken to members who have belonged to reenacting groups that have had those ideologies come into them. That will not be permitted here, not under this administration. And if that day ever comes that it would be allowed, I would hope you would join me in finding another hobby.
There will be no litmus tests for members. If you are a reenactor, I hope you enjoy doing it and I hope you keep the ideology out of it. There is no conversation over re-enacting that you cannot take private. And if you are an open adopter of the ideologies listed above, no one wants to hear it...ever. If you see something in violation of this, please contact the staff and we will deal with it promptly.

xAlpha reacted to lantern2745 in Sith Eternal Officer
This is complete and utter poodoo.
Not once was I (former DL) notified that this would not be accepted, or I'd have yelled from the top of this hill that I'll die on, that this was a bad decision.
Mountain Trooper is based solely on a toy.
Captain Cardinal is 90 percent based on a toy (that has the wrong helmet!).
All the Spec Ops Army CRLs are based on crudely drawn comics, and look like bargain basement SWAT team members - which is why we didn't want them.
95 percent of the clones died before order 66, thus shouldn't even be 501st.
But because the back of a black costume isn't seen in full daylight, you're gonna nix it?
This is precisely the flawed reasoning that made me vote NO for your ratification.

Well as some of you might have noticed I look quite good in a Transport Security Officer Uniform so I added this as a fourth fun choice, simply to shock some people

xAlpha reacted to Alay in Krennic Badge CRL Pictures
Hey,
I've had a fair few folks ask me for Krennic-style badges with extra trim because of the Version 3/4 CRL photo here:
From the movie itself the trimming around the edges is much thinner than that (consistent with all Rogue One and Solo badges):
Most of the folks that have asked for the extra trim were going off the CRL and seeing the picture thought that it was supposed to have that extra trim on the sides. This could confuse costumers and GMLs that don't have particular knowledge on the sources.
Here's a replacement picture I took of a flashback-style bar with smaller trim that could replace the image:

Knocking out my TK during quarantine. Got basic approval about a week ago. Just the other night I got EIB. I'm working on Centurion now!
Stay safe everyone!

xAlpha got a reaction from Ithilnar in How's everyone holding up thru the Pandemic?
I'm working from home, kids and wife are home from school.
I wish my job took this more seriously, but at least we finally have a way to not be in the office.

xAlpha got a reaction from essbeestuff in Thoughts on these officer boots?
They look good to me, I've seen others wear similar boots. The sole is coming off, but that should be an easy repair.

xAlpha reacted to LordMalexit in Agent Ysanne Isard proposed CRL
Good morning,
The LMO team, consulting with the IOC staff has decided that the best way to have this character portrayed is with a normal ISB officer, the new ranks will be added to the already existing CRL. The wig and lenses (as the CRL do not cover face appearances) are permitted matching Ysanne Isard.
Thank you

xAlpha reacted to LordMalexit in ID 90886, new LMO assigned to the IOC
Good day to all!
I am Liam Agujari ID 90886 from Italica Garrison and for this year I will be the LMO of the team assigned to the IOC along with Nathan, I'll leave you with a short presentation hoping to work with you for the best!
Name: Liam Agujari
TXID: ID-90886
Garrison: Italica Garrison
Position: Legion Membership Officer
501st Legion Member since April 2014 with a Black Staff Officer costume but I immediately fell in love with other Imperial Officer costumes such as Line Officer which is the one I troop the most with, First Order Colonel loving the colour, but then took flight with my ANH TIE Fighter Pilot and last but not least my recently completed Snowtrooper Commander (which reminds me of my years in service in the Italian Mountain Troops). I am the leader of the Italian IOC Command Division (151st "Death Star" Battalion) which helps everyone who wants to build an Imperial Officer costume and make it the most accurate as possible. I have always helped as best as I could the Italian Wing to build their TIE Fighter Pilots, doing personal researches, building my own hard parts and helping new recruits. Being new to the Blizzard Force I am always searching for the best resources for the Snowtroopers.
I have been SL of SubZeroSquad in 2016 and for the past two years. I have also been GXO in 2017 and GEC for the past two years. In 2018 I have been a LCOG. Now I serves as SL and thanks to my SXO, I have plenty of time to dedicate to the Legion Membership Office.
In my day to day life, I am an Aircraft Technician specialised in helicopters for the Italian Army, I am serving under the arms from 2011 and before entering the Aviation industry I was part of the Italian Mountain Troops. I love my job and luckily this gives me plenty of time for hobbies: the Legion, Warhammer, travels and most importantly the love of my life, whom I met thanks to the 501st and she supports me in all endeavours!

xAlpha got a reaction from lantern2745 in ISB Agent (BF2)
For builders: those armor straps are the same as the mudtrooper/mimban (and I guess deathtrooper?) ones. For the boots "with texture", sovietboots.com sells similar boots.

xAlpha reacted to bjsavage7 in The Mandalorian CRLs (Minor Spoilers) (S2)
Gideon (even with respect to his brief ISB mention) will certainly/most likely fall under IOC, despite the very minimal TIE greeblies/parts ...IF someone even creates the costume correctly
...dude in the cell....mehhhh..... probably not slightly even a feasible crl with little-to nothing shown of his costume.
That could certainly change, of course with flash-backs or what have you

xAlpha reacted to vonmoen in Flight suit leg straps?
Instead of sewing on stirrups, I use military boot blousers, they're inexpensive, easy to put on, and easy to replace when they finally wear out. No sewing needed.

I don't understand your question. Are there other movies? I admit I have heard something about that. But surely these are only some wired conspiracy-theories.

xAlpha got a reaction from AmadorHimself in Differences between ESB/ANH/ROTJ/R1
That's how I'd always understood it, too, but I guess we should never underestimate the costumer's decision to grab whatever they had on set!
