We had the difficulty of this conversation on colour for Krennic. I think all the screen images are not white as white can be, as most of he time it doesn't look good on screen. However, White is an easy standard to impose. Otherwise you get varying degrees of cream/ivory/off white and it no longer looks uniform.

What she said.  And if you put it up picture to picture against the old ISB picture (I don't have the old VD, so I can't show you, but it was shown to me at a con) Jeems tunis is WHITE.  Like 5000 gallons of bleach white compared to the old ISB tunic.

UK Garrison actually has special dispensation from the 501st to go above and beyond the CRLs.  It was part of the agreement reached when the UKG merged into the 501st, where previously it was an independent entity.  As far as I know, they are unique in this... but they are within their rights to do so.  They have many special requirements that don't apply in the rest of the 501st.

    Interesting.

I will agree at this point with Sean regarding the rank bar being pushbuttons as im guessing you are in the UK and therefore you will have to clear with the UKG and i know the Armourers there will push for it

Serious question since Cari brought it up in another thread - if it's not required by the CRL, why would he have to replace it to get cleared?  I see that he is willing to, but that comment kinda comes across as GML's ignoring the CRLs..?

As far as the Generic FO Officer and Generic FO General are concerned ...  Generic FO General has been okayed as a doable CRL.  Generic FO Officers are  ... not "permanently no never".  It's a nominal hold/no.  I am currently trying to parse through some materials.  The problem with that whole discussion (and I was here for those threads here)  is that generic FO General and Generic FO Officer kept getting conflated and separated and conflated again.  So in answer about FO Officer being on the table .. it is not now, but it could be, but I am absolutely making no promises at thi

Fair enough.  Hence why I asked.  And yeah - I completely understand that some people aren't being clear and jumping into convos about the General wanting to talk about the LT's or whatever.

    I appreciate the candor.

If the goal is to not be constantly updating, then what is the policy on piecemeal updating of a CRL? For instance, a number of things have been discussed for changing, but so far, the only the rank bars have been. Should we be working on the entirety or if it gets done first cape, then tunic, etc is that still ok?

I think that one change was made, to quote Cari, as a sanity check - Krennic was the ONLY CRL that required Push buttons at ALL, let alone at Level 1.  It caused quite a bit of issues for people who had been told by multiple admins that standard items would stay standard, then boom, it wasn't.

The rest of it definitely needs to be fixed, but as most of it is Level 2 and above stuff, it's probably ok to hold off until it all can be rolled into one.

Hmmm... I'm now wondering about my Galen Erso's Science Officer CRL proposal. I haven't looked at the Rogue One scenes closely enough at this point, but I don't know/think there is enough reference photos of certain angles of the costume, and I doubt the Science officer will be seen again. I haven't looked at the R1 special features yet either. Will have to see

Galen Erso Imperial R&D is on the docket for review to make sure it can be CRL'd.

Granted, I'm not the LMO, Cari is, but from both the scene and the picture in the RO VD, it was a standard Olive tunic and Olive straight pants with shoes/boots (they appear to be Chelseas (sp?), but might not be), so I think in the long run you're going to be good Sean. :D

A good bit of what you are speaking to and/or asking is more the realm of the Lead LMO and the thoughts behind the path he has set out for the team this year.  And I honestly cannot speak to what any previous team has done.  I can say that this year's team is to build CRL's that are as good and as accurate as they can be with the information available at the time.  If/when better information comes, then that is when the update process comes into play.

So if I'm reading between the lines (and tell me if I'm out of bounds) - First Order Officers that we could only briefly see but have a good shot of (at least front) in the VD would be back in play?  (For that matter, some of the updates in RO that are in the VD?)

As for edits and updates to already existing CRL's .... they are done with almost as much multi-person involvement and sanity checking.

Once a detachment (in this case, you folks here) decide that a change should be made, that change gets posted in your designated place.  LMO reviews it.  LMO Team reviews it.  Lead LMO reviews in some cases.  Once the proposed change gets the thumbs up, THEN the change is made in Databank.

Question on this.  We have several discussions going for edits or additions to existing CRL's (Krennic to remove some of the wording that crept in specific to the model's costume and not the screen used prop, ISB due to Rogue One, Navy Trooper due to Rogue One, Bridge Crew due to harder looks at the photographs, etc).  So are you saying you and/or Eric will read these discussions and make decisions outside of DL sign off, or that if/when DL signs off you'll make the decision, or a little from both (you'd read, go to DL, etc for example)?

  9. If this is a new CRL and not an addendum to the current Krennic CRL (which I originally thought Rain Coat and Flashback were going to be), let's not repeat the mistakes we are trying to fix from the current CRL.

I.E. lose the bit about exact measurements on the collar and the number of snaps and buttons to close it - the measurements should be approximate to match the wearer (2 inches on my neck is a WHOLE lot shorter than 2 inches on the neck of a 5'3" person), and the snaps bit was matching the costume of the CRL model, NOT the screen used costume.

Other than that, I can't see any of your pictures because Photobucket is trash - might move them to Imgur - but sounds like you're on the right track.

I keep flashing back to what, 4 years ago when they announced their Vader, and the ONLY reason I didn't pull the trigger is I was outside their height suggestions - VERY glad I didn't, having almost $3k tied up for 3+ years with nothing to show for it would have sent me postal.

Good enough, actually.  Without playing with the contrast or anything I see no princess seams, though it tailors in on the sides, so probably built like Meg described on her Price Tunic, without the center seam.

It's not the clearest picture, but it's a WHOLE lot clearer than many of the FO Officer pictures.

I wonder if you could play with the contrast or something to see if you can see any detail on the back in the middle picture

Bottom one is about the best angle - doesn't look like any seams, but hard to tell.  Anyone got the REAL digital copy (not a bootleg) yet?  Could def play with the contracts and lightning on that.

I'm tweeking the design of the 3D printed glueing template, and I figured I'd make a template for two button three button and four button while I'm at it.

The spacing for the four button looks to be about the same as the six button: 1/4" at each end, with a 1/8" space between the buttons.

However I can't find a reference for the dimensions of the spacing of the two and three button rank bars. Can anyone help me out with these measurements?

    Thanks

    -Pete

Should be the same spacing.  The only spacing that is wonky is Veers.
