A man can dress as Juno if matching the CRL the legion does not discriminate the same as if a woman wants to costume as a male face character in fact we have several females as Hux for example our CRL model is and some are working on Krennic as for the interest its exactly that as we work on members write the CRLs together and thats how we like it but before the movie there was not much reference like there was with shoretroopers which mostly came from hundreds of photos from Celebration Im saying the CRLs rank chart will be updated to reflect R1 and Rebels having more officers can only be a good thing

It seems too often that new forum members simply have not researched the protocol of the 501st in regard to CRL formation and new costume approval. A new prospective member should not expect a restaurant menu of all costumes and variants to choose from. As I understand it, every detail of the costumes found in the CR Library were added or amended by passionate fans with a love of screen accuracy. Once they had constructed their costumes with detailed accessories, they submitted photos along side canon evidence, and upon review they were then approved. So typically for new CRL details the passion comes first, the build comes second, the approval comes third, and the CRL comes fourth. I hope you fellas find the uniforms you're after. Best of luck.

KodiakAK got a reaction from shadow5606 in Selecting the right size glove
I don't know about the rest of you, but finding the right size is hard for me. My hands are long and large. So I decided to share some techniques for getting your right sized gloves derived from info I found at turtleskin.com
    Tip #1
Use a glove sizing chart, such as one of the two listed below. Using either the width or length of your hand you can easily determine the correct size for your hand.
Glove Size from Hand Width Measurement:
Wrap a tailor’s measuring tape around your dominant hand just below the knuckles, excluding your thumb, and make a fist. Your dominant hand is the hand you use to hold a pen. If you don’t have a tailor’s soft tape, wrap a piece of string around your hand the same way as above, make a mark, and measure the length of the string with a ruler. This measure ment is your “hand width” glove size.
    Glove Size Width
    Glove Size US and (EN420)
    6-7 Inches XS (6)
    7-8 Inches S (7)
    8-9 Inches M (
    9-10 Inches L (9)
    10-11 Inches XL (10)
    11 + Inches XXL (10)
Glove Size from Finger Length Measurement:
Measure from the bottom edge of your palm – use the first crease at your wrist as the starting point. Measure to the tip of your middle finger. This measurement is your “finger length” glove size.
    Glove Size US and (EN420)
    6 5/16 Inches XS (6)
    6 3/4 Inches S (7)
    7 3/16 Inches M (
    7 9/16 Inches L (9)
    8 1/16 Inches XL (10)
    8 7/16 + Inches XXL (10)
If your hand is anything like mine you will want to concentrate on the length as the primary glove sizing over width. Hand length is more important because you don’t want glove fingers that are too long or too short. If you have a heavy, muscular hand, using width can push you up a size, and the fingers may be too long, causing a loss in dexterity.
    Tip #2:
Glove length is based on middle finger length. Glove manufacturers assume that the index finger is an average amount shorter than the middle finger, and produce gloves that match this assumption. However, the difference between middle finger length and index finger length has a lot of variation, so how do you find gloves that fit all of your fingers comfortably? For small hand sizes, if your index finger is shorter than your middle finger by 1/4 of an inch to 5/16 of an inch, go down one size. For larger hands, go down a size if your index finger is shorter than your middle finger by 1/2 an inch.
    Tip #3:
Some people have heavy muscular palms and fingers. The way that a glove design can stay snug on a range of hand types is stretch. The more stretch in the glove material the better the glove will accommodate large diameter muscular fingers. Leather is not the highest stretch material used in gloves. Knit textile has higher stretch than leather. Perhaps consider gloves that are not all leather like a seamless knit glove.
    Tip #4:
Select gloves as thin as possible and they will fit better and be easier to use.
    Hope this helped!

If you are planning to do a Staff Officer (black uniform), then you are permitted to carry a Power 5. For this to qualify, you'd have to remove the scope, make several mods, and add a phone cord to the top. There are easier and cheaper ways to do this however. This blaster may be used as is with a holster for unofficial events with a black jumpsuit as a crewman/reserve TI, or with any officer unofficially really. For the purposes of getting a costume approved, this item should not be used. I tell everyone boots and uniform first, then look into blasters as a fun accessory for cons.

Yes, RO isn't EU, and will probably get it's own section within the OT. Right now, it was just placed somewhere so people didn't have to look all over. The IOC is growing so rapidly in both members, and costumes, it isn't always easy to initially place things in a spot where they make the most sense.  Not to mention that when this site was made, there was only the OT, the Prequels, and the EU which was where everything else was placed.

    Maybe organize them as such;

Prequels and Anthologies (Ep. 1-3, R1 and upcoming SW stories)
    Original Trilogy (Ep. 4-6)
    Sequel Trilogy(?) (Ep. 7-9?)*
    Animated Shows (TCW, Rebels)
Expanded Universe (Games, novels, comics, etc.)

*I know the plan is for only Ep. 7-9, but then again up until about 2013 we weren't ever supposed to get a 7-9 .

Very accurate since we call AK Hoth, and the subject in question has a house that is accessible year round about 5 hours north of the largest metropolitan area on Hoth.

Mine just arrived and overall I like it few things are a niggle like the belt I won't be using that the cap has 5 stitch lines so that's not good ( I don't wear the hat as my character does not but need to clear in it 1st) the trousers will need stirrups but that's a given for most manufacturers, The tunic has a good weight to it and I love the height of the collar which also closes up nice and tight however the lack of a modesty panel is going to be a problem (I'm not going to be able to put one on mine as no room) please excuse my tardiness I'm not to well right now and shaving is not high on my priorities it took me 40 minutes just to put the uniform on

Not Tattling.  If there's a disagreement on the CRL, the GML's actually supposed to go to the DL for clarification.  You did what you had to, nothing more.

I thought I would share my first troop with you all.

First Troop. Stollery Children’s  Hospital, Edmonton Alberta, Canada.

I don’t even know where to begin... nausea, nerves, excitement, fear and and absolute joy. This is what I experienced at my first troop. I can truly say that this is one of the most memorable days of my life. The pure joy that we brought to those wonderful children going through what may be one of the worst time of their little lives was amazing. There wasn’t a single person in the room that didn't have a smile.

We had parents comment on how they could not  remember when their child last smiled so much or that it was the most they were able to do in days. One little girl was dancing up a storm, laughing and playing the entire time. Her mother told us that the day before she wasn’t even walking and had no energy...don’t you know that she was one of the last kids to stay and play with us. Amazing!!!
We did have the opportunity to walk through some wards, where they were too unwell to make it out to see us. I seriously could have stayed all night with those kids.

I had the honour (Canadian spelling) of seeing and meet some wonderful members of my Garrison who took me in as one of their own from the moment I said “Hi, I’m the new guy.” They showed me what it is to be a member of the 501st. My only regret is that I didn’t join sooner.

now... the bad. I lost one of my code cylinders... but I have a set coming from Philo soon anyways.

I use this technique and left a slit in the collar to remove the plastic bit when I go to clean the uniform. Slide a new one in if it breaks. Most clothing stores have lots of it lying around. I have 5-10 stashed for each cleaning. Only real adjustments I do is curve and painters tape the edges so the plastic does not tear apart the collar from the inside.

    Thanks!

Yeah, it's a bit heavier than Cosplaysky but as other said, I don't think it makes much of a difference on how hot it is. I have a weapawear and a few squadmate have the cosplaysky... I definitely prefer mine.
