It does seem odd that some Anovos kits were allowed through at one stage, either intentionally or otherwise, but can no longer be accepted (for L2+).
Eacpeically noting, as Rob pointed out, as there potentially aren’t that many Anovos kits out there and they have discontinued production (as far as I am aware?)
I get the desire for screen accuracy, I really do. It’s the reason I purchased an Anovos kit to be honest. It was the only licensed product and the one that looked the closest to what we see on screen (IMHO).
But there’s a three inch seam missing that MAY have been on all kits but we simply don’t know, and also shouldn’t been seen if the kit is worn correctly anyway.
(It reminds me of the ‘han snap’ on the TK which is required for higher levels of Stunt TK, as well as Hero)
To then say that something like the CosPlaySky Line Officer kit meets the screen accurate requirements with that completely inaccurate colour is quite frankly bewildering. I honestly mean no offence to anyone with a CosPlaySky Line Officer kit, it’s just that it seems there’s ‘screen-accurate’ and there’s ‘screen-accurate’ depending on what we talk about.

I have a version three security bureau officer costume from Imperial Boots. They did not include the seam on the front yoke. They have also discontinued offering the tunic with the current wave.I have been looking for a correct tunic since finding out this prevents my advancement to L2/L3.
So far, only one vendor I have found expressly states and displays their tunic with the seam across the front panel.
Other options are custom made, which for many could be very cost prohibitive.

if done for one I would do it for all.  And this is something we are talking about.  As I said it doesn't sit well with me that it was passed for a few years and then not for a few years after.  This isn't about basic clearance, this is about the level 2 and 3 program that promotes costume excellence.  I say excellence not accuracy because if we were going to talk about that, it would open a whole can of worms over collar modesty tabs which are not in most uniforms in the films.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Imperial Boots did not include the seam on the front yoke. They too have discontinued, at least in the current wave, officer uniforms.
For anyone, including myself, that has one of these costumes if a decision on Anovos wearers are given clearance should IB not also be included?

I have some issues with this and I'll tell you why.  The only photo I have seen with this seam on the uniform was Admiral Piett in the ESB with his belt under the seam.  That uniform was pretty different from ANH and ROTJ.  I have not seen other photos showing this for the same uniform.  Hats were made different in form and number of stitches.  This is a detail that is not seen.  ALL of the uniforms have the circumference seam around the waist and the back.  The placement of the belt is NOT missed when this is there.

But most of all this detachment passed no less than 15 members without checking the yoke for this seam.  These are with the photos still in the deployment log.  At least two of them clearly did not have the seam when they were cleared to executor and Imperator.  I would never pull a clearance for a member.  But it doesn't sit well with me that we cleared some and not others.   Especially for a detail that is not visible.

Now I do not have an answer for how to move forward on this, I just want it to be said.  We haven't been even, we haven't been fair.  And it bothers me.  Because there are members that have fantastic uniforms with all of the visible details right... and I am not sure if this one hidden detail is a problem.  Especially since we approve to Imperator so many cosplay sky uniforms with a zipped up jacket unlike anything made for the productions.

They were not trying to be duplicitous.  They knew this was an issue from the start.  You can see where they talk about it here.  They know this detail was not on Tarkin or Piett.  And they were ok with clearing this for Level 2 and 3.  When I say 15 cleared, those are the only ones I could see with photos still hosted.  Probably a lot more since many photos are gone now.

And here is where they changed the requirement for the higher level when they were asked about passing these uniforms.
Wampa Wear, Cosplay Sky, Clothiers, Mazcave, private tailors, all have this line.  If you are going to make the line going around the entire circumference of the uniform, why stop at the yoke.

The Anovos line is discontinued.  There will not be more of them made.  But for those few that own them, I think it would be fair that they get the same treatment that these others did.  It can't be a large number and it would be for this one detail.

Thank you for the reasoning for including this seam in the requirements. I certainly agree higher levels should display more screen accurate information.
